How to Make MONEY with TRAVEL VIDEOS!! Yes it is possible.

For the last 4 years I have been running a small business focused on short video productions and freelance photography within the Travel Industry. By no means do I have a massive following on social media nor is my work the best of the best, but I have found a way to make it work and I think you can to.

Here are my tips and advice on how to start making MONEY from your TRAVEL VIDEOS:

1) Portfolio / Showreel – Make one, and make it Banger!
2) Practice – The more the better: Hyperlapse, Timelapse,
Drone, Editing, Transitions, etc.
3) Pitching & Proposals – Contact as many businesses and
agency’s as possible with your region or even internationally.
Research & Contact different Hotels, boutique Hostels, Tour
Operators, Cruise Lines, Local Tourism Boards, Regional
Tourism Boards, PR Agencies managing destinations,
Destination Marketing Firms, etc. (Re: Proposals, I didn’t
touch too much on proposals within this video but it’s really
good to have a base price list available in the case that your
Pitch gets picked up. We can make a future video on
Proposals if it’s of interest to the community.)
4) Networking & Collaborating – Communication, reaching out
to other creators, sending blind emails, researching potential
contacts doing similar things, going to conferences, going to
local events within the industry, etc.
5) 150% Effort. Turn that shit up to 11. – Especially on your first
couple of jobs, but this idea to strive for perfection should go
across all your work really, especially if it’s also a passion like
travel is to most video producers within the industry.
6) Building Bridges – With every YES you get be sure to cradle
that business relationship, as more often than not, one job
will lead to another. This is also a super way to grow your
network and shows valuable standard of practice across your
7) Be Awesome.
