Hiked Stairs Mountain up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire this past weekend. We decided to make it an overnight. We came in with the idea to go Jericho Road, to Rocky Brook Trail, to Stairs Col, to Davis Path. The hike went well but due to SEVERE road damage there is now an additional 2 mile road walk to the trail and then of course 2 miles back.

The first half of the trail was about as easy as it gets. The second half wasnt that bad either. Some pretty steep elevation here and there but not too bad.

The view up top was great. Little did we know there were two legit camp spots at the top of the mountain. They are marked by forest service signs. If we had enough water we definitely would have taken advantage. The closest water to the summit was probably about a miles and a half back.

We stayed at Rocky Brook Shelter #1. Nice large shelter area. Plenty of water and tent sites.

About a 16 mile trip with the road walk included.
